An addition to Walpole Art After School
Thursday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:00, starting January 19, 2017,
at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 26 Elm Street, Walpole, NH
Come explore C. S. Lewis’ classic books, starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and meet the Pevensies, the White Witch, Mr Tumnus, Mr and Mrs Beaver, and of course, Aslan the Lion.
Walk through the Wardrobe with Lucy and discover a different country called Narnia. Find the Lamp Post. Enjoy a Tea Party with Mr and Mrs Beaver. Taste the Turkish Delight that enchanted Edmund Pevensie. Draw a map of Narnia.
Participants are encouraged to read assigned chapters each week, either independently or with their families. We’ll explore Narnia by way of arts and crafts, games, puzzles, and more. As C. S. Lewis wrote these stories as a “retelling” of the Christian story, we will explore those connections, as well.
Any child in first grade or older is welcome. The ability to read chapter books is a plus, but not a requirement if parents are willing to read with their child at home.
Narnia Navigators is an additional afternoon of the highly successful Walpole Art After School program, sponsored by St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Interested? Email Susan Kershaw at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to register a child. There is no fee, but donations of any amount are welcome. Register soon! Space is limited to 12 navigators.
