About

Walpole Art After School began in 2006 and is a highly successful outreach program for children and young people who are in first grade or higher. Art is the medium for nurturing imagination, building community, and encouraging creativity. Most of all, Walpole Art After School is fun! Each year more than 25 youngsters from Walpole and Alstead participate in the program and use pencils, pens, oil pastels, acrylic paints, clay, “recycled” materials, and collage elements, to create art work, and as a result, strong self-esteem.

Walpole Art After School is led by artist Susan de Puy Kershaw, and professional fiber artist Racheal Scott. Susan and Racheal are ably assisted by adult associates.

St. John’s Church generously supports Walpole Art After School through the offer of the use of the Parish Hall, along with all utilities and bookkeeping services. Donations of any kind, made out to Walpole Art After School c/o St. John’s Church, PO Box 179, Walpole, NH 03608, are appreciated and help us to continue to offer this program tuition-free so that no child is ever turned away from full participation.

Walpole Art After School meets on Wednesday afternoons, 3:15 – 5:00 pm, whenever school is in session.
